Yesterday we drove from Winchester, KY, to Evansville, IN, to see some family members who couldn't make it to the reunion, then drove on to Poplar Bluff, MO (hometown of Tyler Hansbrough and closest town to the trees I own north of here--more on them in a later post). On our way, we drove through Santa Claus, IN (two pictures posted above to prove it) and then onto Lincoln's Childhood Home in Indiana. This is where his mother, Nancy Hanks, died and his father remarried. There is a very nice memorial building near an early-1800s working farm tehre. Once again my annual National Parks Pass paid for the entry fee--this is a wonderful deal!
Today I've been doing housekeeping chores (laundry, organize packing, shopping for lunch stuff). Soon we will leave to see the trees in Reynolds County.
